Bio

Angela Carlsen was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in photography.

Angela’s passion for photography drives her every day to learn and grow within the medium. In her 15 years of experience since graduating from NSCAD she has worked hard to keep up with the ever-changing world of photography. In the past 2 years her work has garnered honourable mention from the Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards (architecture category) and first place at Halifax’s BattleSnap photography competition. Exhibitions of her fine art photography have been reviewed in local newspapers and magazines, as well as featured on Canadian Art Magazine’s website.

Her love for history and the study of humans' impermanent constructions have led her to the exploration and documentation of many abandoned buildings. In contrast, she is equally drawn to the clean lines and forms of new architecture as our cities change and expand. Angela takes pride in creating her own unique vision of the structures that surround us and continues to expand her portfolio in many directions.

Angela currently resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
